I spend a lot of time in the kitchen. When I’m not in the kitchen, I’m thinking about what I’m going to cook next. Even when we go out for supper, I’m usually thinking or talking about how I’m going to reproduce the amazing thing I’m eating. As someone who spends many of their waking hours engaged in food related activities, I’ve developed a love hate relationship with my spice cabinet.
I love the spices themselves, I’ve got everything from allspice to yellow mustard and all kinds of delicious flavors in between. However, to add to my spice habbit, I’ve taken many a trip to Bulk Barn. Which means tons of plastic bags which, at one point, were neatly labeled. Now they are mostly in their bags, with the exception of the 1/4 inch of mixed spices at the bottom of the box the little bags live in. This weekend I nearly used thyme in place of oregano, and that’s when I decided I needed to reclaim the spices.
My solution to the spice problems? Little mason jars, with chalk paint lids. These were actually really easy to make, and my spice cabinet will be so tidy! These were actually very easy make, I’ll write up the instructions later this week so you can make some too!
